Created in 2002 by husband and wife team; Chris and Lindy Campbell, Sharkless is a small company with a big reach. The first three years of existence, Sharkless was created as an information and networking resource to reach out to other kiteboarders who were learning kiteboarding. Sharkless also became a portal for “Across All Boarders,” a fundraiser we created to aid the Southeast Asian tsunami disaster fund. Over the years, we continued to host several kiteboarding events. As more and more kiteboarding enthusiasts came to events and visited our website, Sharkless grew in popularity. More and more people asked for advice on getting started and gear. The overwhelming response is what convinced us to become a retailer and a kiteboarding school.

For several years prior to opening the shop, we've skateboarded at South Haven's Skate Park. We've watched kids break boards and lose parts, with no skate shop to replace the gear. The only solution was to travel out of town or buy their gear online. We wanted to provide a convenient resource for local skateboarders to buy gear. The immense response from the local skateboarding community has been surprising and rewarding. In addition the gear we sell, we put skateboards together and offer free skateboard adjustments and host annual kiteboarding events including our popular "Sharktoberfest.". In 2007, with the help of local businesses and parents, we raised more than $20,000 to rebuild Waterfront Skate Park in South Haven. Being involved with the kids in the local community is very rewarding. We maintan a strong community involvement and have recently added an incentive program called "Karma's Army" that encourages kids to get active, get involved and make a difference.
